Our Team

Dr. Shaheed Rahman B.Sc., D.C.

Dr. Rahman has been in private practice in Waterloo since 2000. As an avid athlete and sports fan, he has been treating patients and athletes of different abilities from weekend warriors to athletes at the national and professional levels.

After studying co-operative Biochemistry at the University of Waterloo (1996), Dr. Rahman elected to study chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College (2000).

Dr. Rahman was exposed to Active Release Techniques® (ART) as a patient himself while studying in New York, and quickly became fascinated with ART® in combination with “traditional” chiropractic. The result is a balanced approach to diagnosis and effective treatment for many neuromusculoskeletal disorders.

As a certified ART provider and a member of the Ironman Provider Network, Dr. Rahman has always had an interest in the field of sports rehabilitation. This includes constant (re)certifications but not limited to Emergency Sports First Responder, the Shoulder Made Simple, Gait Analysis, Custom Orthotic Seminars, and flexion-distraction. Dr. Rahman was also on the first medical treating team at the Lake Placid Ironman (1999).

Dr. Rahman spends free time with family and friends. He also actively participates in ball hockey, weight training, hockey and golf pools, along with commissioning fantasy football leagues. He is also a long time Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Bills and L.A. Lakers fan.

Dr. Rahman would also like to thank Dr. Bruce Wand (Waterloo, ON) and Dr. Dale Buchberger (New York) for their mentoring and continued support throughout the years. Dr. Wand was instrumental as a positive chiropractic role model with over 40 years experience. Dr. Buchberger was important in the field of sports chiropractic including clinical diagnosis, ART, and shoulder rehabilitation.
